Fauci: The Nightmare Is Far From Over
(UnitedVoice.com) – When it comes to the coronavirus, most researchers agree that we don’t yet fully understand how it works or how to cure it. But lately, it seems as if some Americans are all too ready to throw caution to the wind and stop worrying about it altogether. States are jumping forward to reopen in a mad rush to restore normalcy. That has many experts, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, speaking out.
Fauci, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) stated that, “In a period of four months, [the virus] has devastated the whole world and it isn’t over yet.” He went on to say it is, “more complex than HIV,” a disease scientists have yet to cure.
The CDC continues to post COVID-19 map updates on Twitter. With each new post, the number of infected individuals only rises. As of June 9, it has reportedly reached nearly 2 million worldwide.
As of June 9: Almost 2 million #COVID19 cases have been reported in the U.S., with 37 states and jurisdictions reporting more than 10,000 cases. Continue to slow the spread by wearing a cloth face covering and washing your hands often. https://t.co/wiuFBKR3Uh pic.twitter.com/aejD1WDyGL

No matter the social scenario in America, safety still matters. HIV/AIDS kills over 15,000 Americans every single year and has been virtually impossible to eliminate. If Dr. Fauci’s predictions are correct, and the virus continues to spread, the worst may be yet to come. But if we don’t understand the virus completely, how can anyone know for sure?
